Svea Solar, a company specializing in photovoltaic solar power generation systems for self-consumption, has opened its first training center for solar panel installers in Alicante, Spain. Being aware of the lack of qualified workforce in the sector, the company is committed to increasing education and safety in the sector with a center that will receive more than 200 students. Svea Solar plans to double this figure in 2023 and reach more than 400 trained people.
Located at Calle Mariano Benlliure number 19, this center provides theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The Education Center includes test stations with life-size roof models and a practice-enabled space so students can learn to work in real situations. The company has invested more than €200,000 in this project.
“In the current situation, it is essential to move forward in renewable energy consumption, and in particular by utilizing solar energy. However, it is more important to do this safely and with all guarantees, so at Svea Solar we want to have the best network of own installers in the country, with the most and best trained people”, explains Daniel Nilsson, company manager at General Spain. “Alicante has always been a strategic location for us, so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to place our training center for installers, our power modifiers here,” added Rafael Duesca, director of the Alicante Training Centre.
Mª Carmen from Spain, Member of the Employment and Development Council of Alicante City Council, also attended the event and said, “Your model is the Alicante model, a model of entrepreneurship and commitment to the renewable energies of the future. Mr. Jesús Navarro, vice-president of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce, also attended the opening, adding that “it is a source of pride for the city of Alicante to have companies that revitalize the economy and make it a belief and service, promoting public-private cooperation”.
This innovative hub joins Svea Solar’s other logistics facilities in the country, located in Alicante, the central region -Madrid and its environs-, Valencia, Barcelona, Malaga and Seville; and those envisioned in the north – Zaragoza and Bilbao. Currently, Svea Solar is installing more than 100 self-consumption photovoltaic installations per month, not counting industrial installations. The firm expects to multiply these figures by 10 over the next five years.
To launch the center, Svea Solar collaborated and sponsored with ESDEC, Bet Solar, Huawei, Bluebase, Equipo Vertical and Grupo Escriche.
