During the Tokyo Game Show 2022, Genshin Impact developers unveiled Zenless Zone Zero, a shareware post apocalyptic action RPG. The presentation runs about 18 minutes and offers a first look at the new project.

The video opens with a two minute cutscene before the player guides the hero into a bustling hub. The main character interacts with a cat, chats with a robot, passes by a window chef, and exchanges words with two police officers and several other non playable characters. The footage then shifts to combat, featuring a variety of skirmishes and culminates in a boss encounter that resembles a crane armed with a massive saw.

BEE Zenless Zone Zero casts players into a world battered by a global catastrophe, a place where ethereal monsters roam the landscape. The central story follows a group of survivors who have learned to exploit the enemies technologies and has helped create the thriving metropolis of New Eridu. It is in this urban setting that the action role playing unfolds, weaving survival, mystery and confrontations with formidable foes.

The game is built on the Unity engine and is being developed for PC, Android and iOS platforms. No official release date has been announced publicly. The current expectation is that the launch could occur within the near future, potentially in 2023, but plans remain subject to change as development continues.

All game visuals and screenshots from Zenless Zone Zero are accessible for viewing here. The project has also been connected to additional media efforts including announcements of an anime adaptation based on the world and its characters, expanding the universe beyond the game itself. In related news, conversations around the second anniversary gifts for Genshin Impact continued to surface, underscoring the ongoing engagement of the fan community with the broader franchise.
