During the Silent Hill Transmissions presentation, Konami unveiled Silent Hill F, the next pivotal entry in the long-running horror saga, first announced in fall 2022. The reveal came with promises of a fresh yet faithful take on the series, aiming to blend dread, atmosphere, and a sharper storytelling edge that would resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.

Steam soon hosted the game’s page, unveiling the first screenshots and fresh details. The listing suggested a fog-drenched mood, hinting at new environments, eerie sound design, and puzzles that demand careful observation and clever manipulation of surroundings.

Set in the imagined Japanese city of Ebisugaok during the 1960s, the story drapes the town in an eerie fog. Players follow Hinako, a young girl whose journey involves solving intricate puzzles and facing chilling monsters. The setting blends retro aesthetics with surreal horror, inviting players to uncover hidden lore as the fog thickens and the mystery deepens.

The project is developed by Neobards Entertainment Studio, known for collaborating with Capcom on the Devil May Cry HD Collection, Resident Evil: Resistance, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, among other projects. The scenario is penned by the Japanese writer Ryukishi07, author of the visual novels When the Cicadas Cry and When the Seagulls Cry. The team promises a mature, atmospheric horror experience that respects the roots of Silent Hill while embracing modern storytelling techniques and cinematic presentation.
