A new discussion in Russia confirms a physical disc release for Saints Row, alongside a remake of The Last of Us Part 1. Publishers Deep Silver and developer Volition announced that Saints Row has reached gold status. In game development terms, this means the main production work is finished and the project moves toward distribution, whether on disc and digital storefronts or through updates prior to launch. At this stage, further data transfers for manufacturing or certification are unlikely, though minor changes can still occur before shipping begins.
Officials stated that the game would go on sale on August 23. The plan had previously targeted a February 25 release, but market conditions or internal decisions led to the date being adjusted. The shift reflects typical publishing adjustments as teams coordinate with distributors and platforms to ensure a smooth rollout across regions.
Saints Row is presented as a reboot of the long-running series. The narrative centers on the birth of a criminal gang known as the Saints, documenting their early steps into the world of organized crime and their attempts to carve out a name for themselves in a competitive urban landscape.
The game is expected to release on multiple platforms, including PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. In a lighter moment, Keanu Reeves shared a personal dream of one day portraying Batman, a twist of pop culture whimsy that fans enjoyed as a rumor more than a confirmation.
