Betty Boop from Paramount cartoons portrayed by Alcololi
Betty Boop appeared in 1930s shorts and later in a notable film. Today she fades from memory even among fans, a rare spark in cosplay circles. The rendition featured here was crafted by Alcololi. The first frame remains canon while the rest leans into playful, risqué reinterpretation.

Shiva from Mortal Kombat (2011) by Anna Shakhovskaya
This four-armed warrior from the Shokan race is a guard for Shao Kahn. While she sometimes faltered in her duties, the era saw Sindel, Kitana, and Sonya Blade escape captivity. After the emperor’s fall, she joined forces with Kotal Kan. The Shiva cosplay here was created by Anna Shakhovskaya, and an interview with the artist is featured on the site.
Cosplay:
Hot Bonus:
Shiva stands apart from other Mortal Kombat heroines and remains a rare sight in cosplay. The author loves the series and has long wanted to embody this giantess. The process demanded careful preparation: padding for hands and fingers, an artificial bald cap, horns, and armor elements. Makeup stretched over more than four hours. The result, in the creator’s view, was worth every minute.

Zatanna and the Black Canary from DC Comics by Yuna Kairi and Zhenya Zhuk
The DC Universe reaches a decade of age this year. In 2013, Man of Steel premiered, and today Warner Bros. faces the challenge of catching Marvel Studios. James Gunn is steering new plans for DC films, and there was no room for a Zatanna feature then. Yuna Kairi brought Zatanna to life, while Zhenya Zhuk portrayed the Black Canary. A separate piece was devoted to the second heroine and a video interview with Zhuk was published.
Cosplay:
Hot Bonus:
Magic feels timeless, and Zatanna remains the DC universe’s most mystic heroine. She appears in cosplay far less often than Canary or Wonder Woman, which makes these portrayals feel special.
