Fans of Metel Horror Escape will notice only a few new mechanics in this game, but those are essential for progress. The goal is to locate various objects, use them to open doors, and navigate passageways to escape the house.
Stealth
On easier settings, slipping away from danger is straightforward. As difficulty rises, the pursuer speeds up and gains better hearing. It’s wise to move quietly and avoid unnecessary noise.
Throwing objects
Throwing is a new feature. Rocks or heavy tools can break windows to enter rooms, and planks can help players climb ledges. Throws can also distract the Joker by drawing attention away from the player’s path. If a location the Joker patrols is approached, hurl an object in the opposite direction to lure him away.
Traps
Early on there are only a few traps, but as the escape attempt continues, more appear. Enemies place them at random, and it is possible to encounter several traps within a single corridor. Escaping a trap is simple: click the highlighted point multiple times and then hold the button. If the timing is missed, the Joker may grab the hero and a day is lost.
How to summon the Joker
Once inside a room, inspect the top-right desk drawer. Take the key and the diary (optional). Use the key to open the door and discover the following items:
- Candle. In the living room on a candlestick;
- Matches. In the kitchen near the counter;
- Joker card. On the cupboard by the front door.
Exit through the back door or circle the building to reach the basement. A cutscene begins, after which the player returns to the house. Go to the hero’s room, open the chest, and take the igloo. Use it to pierce the balls and view another video.
How to find and sharpen a knife
Discard the needle and journal from the inventory. Examine the wooden cabinet and move it aside to reveal a passage. Choose a few stones here, break the window glass, and step outside.
Move around the left side of the building and break the goods on the table with a rock jug to obtain the knife. Hold the spacebar on a PC to combine the knife with the stone, thereby sharpening it.
How to find a plunger and a key to the door on the second floor
Cut the rope on the well with a knife and grab the bucket. Use it to fill the small flooded area to the right of the gate. Turning on the water will be useful later.
The bucket can be discarded after use. To access the toilet window on the first floor, a board is needed. Return to the guesthouse and break the window to the left of the entrance. Use the second brick to topple the sign supporting the door. If it doesn’t work on the first try, repeat the action.
The guesthouse door remains locked, so entry is possible through the basement. After picking up a plate, place it under the window. Enter the bathroom and search for the plunger.
You can also pick up a plate. It will be needed soon. Use the plunger on the counter and take the key to the door on the left on the second floor. The piston can be discarded.
How to get a nail puller
Observant players notice a briefcase in the basement. With a sharpened knife, it is time to return and open it, which can be done on the route to boarding the boarding house.
How to find locker password
Go to the second floor, open the door, and use the nail gun on the shelves. The lockers themselves are empty, so there is no need to inspect them further. Head to the balcony and climb onto the roof through a hole in the railing.
Proceed along the edge to the opposite side of the building and avoid falling. On the balcony, pick up the handle of a shovel and then throw the sign to the other side to cross. Throw an item at the counter to retrieve binoculars. Return the way you came or open the door—the choice is yours. The bathroom on the second floor, located to the right of the office door, is where the player turns on the water, enters the cabin, and uses the binoculars (key E on PC).
Why this matters? It reveals the code for the safe in the hallway on the second floor. The number is shown on the TV in the neighboring house and can also be observed in the bathroom after cleaning the binoculars. Note that each new game generates a random combination, so a fixed code is not provided.
How to find a shovel
The first part of the shovel is found on the balcony on the second floor, as described earlier. The second part becomes available after solving the locker code with the binoculars. Inside there will be a bayonet.
How to find wire cutters
Combine both shovel parts and run to the guesthouse. Behind it, a dirt pile hides a heavy doll. Return to the house and search for a fireplace on the main floor in the living room. Throw the doll into the fire and wait for the fabric to burn. This yields the wire cutters.
How to open a garage door and find a master key
Exit the house via the back door and use the wire cutters on the grate. You can throw an item at the red button, but be careful: once the gate opens, the enemy will follow. On the workbench lies the master key.
How to use the master key
The key unlocks the desk drawer on the second floor office, granting access to the last locked door in the house.
How to find the secure code
The code for the safe is on the board; flip the image to reveal it. It remains constant across playthroughs: 07734. Use the key to open the gate and escape.
How to get an alternate ending
At the end, the inscription confirms the escape from the Joker, but the guide notes there are no alternate endings in the current version. Future updates may introduce new endings and reveal who is hidden in the locked room of the guest house. The guide will be updated with any changes.
