Studio Creative Assembly, renowned for its suspenseful Alien: Isolation and the expansive Total War saga, has unveiled a fresh project: a sci-fi PvPvE shooter named Hyenas.
The storyline unfolds in a distant future after Earth’s collapse. The wealthy have claimed Mars, while the rest of humanity clings to orbital slums. Players step into the shoes of scavengers nicknamed “hyenas,” who raid the affluent to reclaim artifacts and pop culture treasures saved from Earth.
The visual style leans into a cartoonish realm reminiscent of Overwatch and Fortnite, delivering bright, stylized worlds and kinetic, fast-paced action. Battles pit five squads of three combatants against one another, with the aim of amassing as much treasure as possible. On each map, there are both human opponents and AI bots, creating dynamic skirmishes. Some matches will feature zero gravity, adding a twist to movement and combat strategy.
The game is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with development updates continuing to shape its release window.
