How to farm medals in Helldivers 2
Medals act as a special currency in Helldivers 2, opening doors to new weapons, skins and other items. Missions yield medals in smaller amounts, but certain events provide faster routes to accumulate them. The most reliable path isn’t simply blasting through companies—it’s about choosing the right activities.
To earn medals, players should prioritize side missions or two-part missions. Side missions offer an extra reward for completion, while two-part missions span larger areas with more points of interest, allowing more frequent medal drops. During missions, caches appear on the map as loot from random containers across the planet, but this method is less predictable for medal farming since loot varies greatly.
Daily challenges, called Personal Orders, change once per day and can be pursued alongside main objectives. Completing these goals quickly yields several medals in early matches after logging in. Personal Orders provide a much larger medal payoff than what a map cache can deliver, making them a valuable focus for early gains.
How to farm monsters in Helldivers 2
Samples unlock an entire upgrade category as players progress, and missing them means missing out on key ship upgrades that boost strategic options. They are essential for taking on higher difficulties and facing rare monsters to advance further.
The simplest way to find samples is to hunt POIs such as scientific bases, border outposts and crash sites. They can also appear in enemy positions, with appearances varying by region. In the Terminid region, samples appear as bulbous growths on thin stems beside insect nests and burrows. In human habitats they resemble flat, rectangular boxes. Activating radio towers helps reveal all POIs on the map, which not only boosts experience but also unlocks every POI location. Teams can then plan routes to collect as many samples as possible.
Remember that rare monster samples become available only on Challenger difficulty. Don’t forget to collect sample containers after defeating enemies so they aren’t lost forever.
How to leverage all the resources and experience
Experience and money are valuable for acquiring new weapons and gear. They accumulate as players complete a mix of tasks and activities, with amounts depending on task difficulty. The following tips help speed resource gains.
Choose sectors with vending machines and smaller area sizes. Such missions require defeating a set number of foes and don’t impose tight time limits. The limited area offers a strategic advantage, so focus on clearing missions within a sector and then move to new areas. With a full squad and smart route planning, these runs can be completed in just a few minutes.
Each team member should pick strategies for both conventional and electromagnetic mortars, which unlock at level 20. For other roles, select approaches suited to mass clearance. A key feature is the automatic landing ships that deploy enemies and heavy equipment, while the chosen devices fire as targets appear.
The weapon choice is flexible. For missions like these, equipping a weapon with a sniper scope helps hit armor weak points. After landing, each teammate should place two mortars and start collecting samples before the bulk of opponents arrives. Move carefully across the map, monitor enemy positions and avoid friendly mortar damage. Center map areas often host heavy weapons and tanks that can hurt players on landing. After a full sweep, repeat the pattern for maximum gains.
