The Genshin Impact team unveiled update 3.3 under the title “All that is visible is reality, all that exists is decay,” revealing a slate of forthcoming innovations and additions that players could anticipate in the near future. The presentation framed the update as a comprehensive look at new characters, mechanics, and content designed to deepen the world’s lore and gameplay options.

Main innovations:

  • The first major addition is a new character known as the Wanderer, also referred to by fans as Scaramuccia. He holds a pivotal role as the sixth Harbinger of Fatui, a faction that has long represented intrigue and power within the game’s political landscape. In the most recent reveal, he makes his in-game appearance as a world boss, signaling a shift in how players will encounter and challenge him outside of standard quest lines. The Wanderer is a five-star Anemo (air) element character wielding a catalyst, which will shape his ranged magical capabilities and provide distinctive options for team composition and combat strategy.
  • The second new character introduced is Faruzan. She arrives as a four-star heroine aligned with the Cryo (ice) element and is equipped with a bow, offering a different ranged specialty and a contrasting kit that complements other party members in icy environments and strategic crowd control. Faruzan’s presence broadens the roster of ranged Cryo options and invites new synergies that players can experiment with in various regions and boss encounters.
  • In the first half of the banners, players will see the Wanderer paired with Arataki Itto, while the second half highlights Kamisato Ayato and Shogun Raiden. These combinations are designed to create dynamic banner rotations, allowing collectors and adventurers to pursue specific character synergies that suit different playstyles, whether focus is on strong elemental reactions, crowd control, or high-powered single-target bursts.
  • A new Archon quest will center on the Wanderer, expanding the narrative threads surrounding this enigmatic harbinger and offering deeper lore about the Fatui, their motives, and how these characters intersect with the broader world’s geopolitical tensions. Players can expect a story-driven experience that ties into ongoing events and regional histories already familiar to fans of Teyvat.
  • Into the weapon catalog arrives a five-star Catalyst designed specifically for the Wanderer. This weapon addition aims to augment his elemental manipulation and spellcasting ability, enabling players to explore unique spell-driven builds that emphasize mobility, evasive tactics, and sustained damage over time.
  • Two new artifact sets will enter the fray. Each set is crafted to enhance specific facets of the Wanderer or other compatible teammates, offering fresh options to optimize stat rolls, set bonuses, and synergy with team composition choices across solo or co-op play.
  • Gamers will also get access to a new card game called “Sacred Call of the Seven.” This digital collectible card game will let players duel NPCs or other players, with all content in the new core mode available free of charge. The developers promise ongoing updates that will bring additional maps and mechanics in future patches, expanding the strategic landscape beyond traditional action gameplay.
  • The update plan includes four events: one main event accompanied by three smaller activities. The overall incentive focuses on rewarding players with a four-star sword through participation and completion of challenges, providing accessible avenues to grow in-game equipment without extra spending.
