Steam’s digital storefront has expanded its free offerings with three titles transitioning to a fully free model all at once. The games moving to no-cost distribution are TinShift, Midnight Renegade: Memories, and Circles.
TinShift is a multiplayer first person shooter designed for online battles with up to 20 players, developed by the Ukrainian studio MIROWIN. It entered Steam Early Access last year and drew solid feedback, earning about an 81% approval rating at that time. The game draws inspiration from legendary shooters likequake, Unreal Tournament, and Fall of the Titans. It features realistic gunplay, vertical wall running, and an intriguing ability to rewind gameplay by 10 seconds to recover from mistakes or surprise encounters.
“The standout feature is the time rewind. The rapid onslaught of action can catch players off guard, so the rollback option gives everyone a second chance to alter the outcome after a ten-second window,” notes the game description. The development team commented on the shift to a free-to-play model by explaining that adopting a no-cost strategy would boost player numbers and strengthen confidence to continue supporting the project.
The title can be added to a Steam library for free now, with TinShift previously priced at 259 rubles. All TinShift screenshots provide a visual glimpse into the experience.
Midnight Renegade: Recollections is described as a pixel art 2D platformer featuring four levels and three boss encounters. In the climactic stage, players confront a senior agent, and combat offers both melee and pistol options against a variety of foes. The game emphasizes precise platforming, retro aesthetic, and challenging boss mechanics that appeal to fans of classic arcade titles.
“Players will discover a fast paced rhythm where timing and positioning decide success,” the description explains. As with TinShift, this title has transitioned to a free distribution model to widen access and attract a larger player base, supporting ongoing development and updates as motivation to keep players engaged.
The new free version can be added to a Steam library now, and the game previously sold for 61 rubles. All Midnight Renegade: Recollections screenshots capture the game’s distinctive pixelated visuals and retro charm.
Circles is a unique and intuitive puzzle game centered on connecting and manipulating circular elements. Players navigate through a wide array of levels, totaling 90, with additional tasks that extend the challenge. By moving the cursor, players learn the rules governing each circle’s behavior. Depending on the path chosen, circles can expand, shrink, or glide across the screen. The goal is to experiment with control schemes to discover the correct sequence that leads to the exit in each stage, offering a satisfying blend of logic and experimentation.
“As players guide the cursor, the rules become clear and the circles reveal their patterns,” the description notes. The shareable experience remains accessible as a free title, with prior pricing listed as 82 rubles. A wealth of Circles screenshots highlights the game’s minimalistic design and clever puzzle physics.
All Circles visuals can be viewed alongside gameplay descriptions, demonstrating the game’s approachable yet rewarding puzzle design. Circles has received positive reception, including a high user rating at the time this update was prepared, reflecting its approachable challenge and elegant mechanics.
Additional updates and free game opportunities are announced periodically through community channels and official outlets, giving players a steady stream of fresh experiences to explore in Steam’s evolving free-to-play catalog. These shifts in distribution strategy represent a broader trend toward lowering barriers to entry and inviting new players to test their skills across a growing library of titles. (VG Times)
