In Enveloped, there is no strict class division. Success hinges on the gear you obtain and the skills you cultivate. Just like the game itself, there is a less obvious path to quickly gain power and unlock more traits. This guide highlights key benefits, builds, and what to prioritize first.

How to get more skill points
Beyond the typical experience from defeating monsters, players can earn an extra point by breaking the Shroud’s roots. These roots appear all over the map and aren’t always obvious. As the story progresses, new markers appear: “Source of Elixir” and “Root of the Veil.” A character can accumulate up to 114 skill points by reaching level 25, completing main missions, and destroying all Veil roots.
Do I need to upgrade the initial skills?
The dots in the circle mark basic talents that are not tied to a specific class. That said, they are not useless. “Surprise Attack” helps avoid unnecessary fights, and higher back damage pays off in co-op play. This path enables significantly more damage. The “Savior” skill speeds up ally revives in co-op from 6 seconds to 3 seconds, a highly useful early boost. If a player enjoys mining or breaking through terrain with a pickaxe, the entire top-left branch of the circle becomes very handy.
Which skills do you need to improve first?
Here is a list of talents useful for any role and consistently valuable:
- Double jump – with no pull-up in the game, this skill aids exploration and tower challenges. It also helps when climbing grids, since jumping doesn’t drain stamina;
- Upward airflow – the glider can follow an awkward trajectory, but this skill helps correct it. It saves you from lava and falls while landing and accelerates movement over rolling hills;
- Good absorption – a notable upgrade to healing, saving resources and speeding health recovery;
- Teleportation – replaces dodge with a magical dash. Since rolling can still cause damage, teleporting is more reliable;
- Heavy plates – increases armor by 10 percent. This suits both tanks and magic users, reducing the risk of a single failed hit.
Is it possible to play different roles in battle?
Experience and talent points are sufficient for a player to take on multiple roles at once if needed. It’s possible to reallocate skill points whenever a different build is desired. If melee is chosen, it’s recommended to keep a bow and arrows in reserve to solve puzzles, activate mechanisms, and defeat flying monsters.
How to reset skills
To reset, visit the Altar of Flame and select the appropriate item. The reset costs 10 runes, earned by disenchanting weapons found in the world or by defeating enemies. Any weapon can be disassembled, starting with green quality. Higher quality yields more runes.
Best build for a wizard
Fans of auto-targeting staves and wands may enjoy playing a mage in Enshrouded. The branch is broad, but the most important skills are highlighted here:
- Spirituality – higher Flame level increases intelligence, boosting magical damage;
- Aura of water – aids in healing allies nearby, providing extra health recovery amid heavy combat;
- Veil Remover – with a 15% attack chance, increases time spent outside the shroud by 30 seconds. A montage can remove the timer entirely;
- Wizard – raises critical chance for magical weapons by 15%. With strong base damage, a critical hit can wipe out many foes in a single strike;
- Scout – adds critical damage and more stamina, useful for puzzles and long-distance movement.
You should wield two sticks that deal fire and electricity damage to be ready for any encounter. Other wizard gear can be gathered from the Alchemist and upgraded as it develops.
Best warrior build
Even with the power of two-handed weapons, current builds tend to favor one-handed weapons paired with a shield. If healers are on the team, focus can stay on dealing damage while other indicators are monitored. For a safer approach, consider these talents:
- Fast knives – boosts attack speed, enabling more frequent critical hits and effects;
- Cleaning – extends Veil time by 5 seconds per enemy slain. Not as strong as the mage path, yet noticeable in heated battles;
- Combat healing – restores 5% of maximum health on a critical hit;
- Aura of water – provides a small passive heal for the entire team during tough fights;
- Heavy hand – makes stunning enemies easier to land, allowing extra damage opportunities.
You will want a weapon that combines cutting, piercing, and crushing damage to trigger all the previously chosen skills. Basic gear can be bought from the blacksmith and upgraded as needed.
Best archer build
Archers enjoy long range but often struggle with accuracy. Success depends on the player, yet even with a few misses, they stay out of direct danger. Archers can become the main damage dealer with full level progression and also move quickly across the map. The following talents are recommended:
- The entire Pathfinder tree boosts the base bow attack significantly;
- Multishot – raises damage by hitting multiple targets in one shot;
- Graceful hallway – grants extra Dexterity for every two Flame levels;
- Scout – increases all stats, boosting damage and mobility;
- Aura of water – improves passive healing for the team.
You should equip items that boost ranged damage and speed up stamina recovery. The main set is located with the Huntress, though any armor providing the required stats works well.
