Xiaomi MIUI 14 Update for Xiaomi 13 Boosts Camera with New Filters

The Chinese tech maker Xiaomi has rolled out an update to the MIUI shell for the Xiaomi 13, focusing on sharpening the device’s camera experience. Reports from ITHome describe the release as a step toward stronger imaging performance on the new flagship.

The update carries the build name MIUI 14.0.27.0 and requires about 194 MB of storage when installed on compatible devices. At present, this version is distributed within China, with a wider international rollout planned for later dates.

According to the MIUI 14.0.27.0 changelog, the update brings notable camera enhancements. Two new Leica-inspired filters have been added: Leica Bleach Brown and Leica Monochrome Blue. In addition, Xiaomi notes improvements to the camera control system and a refined visual output, which together aim to deliver a more polished, studio-like look in everyday handheld photography.

The Xiaomi 13 represents the base model in Xiaomi’s latest flagship line, unveiled toward the end of 2022. It features a 6.4-inch display, a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and a triple-camera array with 50 MP, 12 MP, and 10 MP sensors, all built to showcase color fidelity, dynamic range, and sharp detail in diverse lighting scenarios.

Earlier, there were reports from socialbites.ca about Sharp introducing the Aquos R8 Pro with an exceptionally smooth 240 Hz display and MIL-STD-810 protection, illustrating the high-end device landscape during the same period. These notes underscore Xiaomi’s ongoing competition in the premium segment and the significance of firmware updates that optimize camera performance and user experience across flagship smartphones.
