SberJazz has emerged as the central online platform for internal business meetings, connecting around 280 thousand employees at Sber. The financial institution’s press service confirms that roughly 140 thousand team members engage with the service on a daily basis, underscoring its pivotal role in day-to-day operations.

Within Sber’s internal ecosystem, SberJazz stands out as one of the largest intra-company video conferencing solutions in the Russian market. The platform is distributed and supported by the partner company SberDevices, ensuring wide deployment across diverse departments and locations.

According to Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Deputy CTO and Head of the Sberbank Technology Blog, the project began in the wake of import substitution challenges for foreign digital tools in 2022. Sber acted swiftly to integrate the SberJazz platform into the bank’s circuit, prioritizing stable and secure communication for employees during a period of heightened concern about external dependencies.

Since then, the platform has progressed rapidly. Within two years, it evolved into a reliable and scalable solution capable of handling the bank’s demanding tasks and workloads, according to Belevtsev. The rapid maturation underscores Sber’s commitment to robust, enterprise-grade collaboration tools that can support large-scale operations without compromising performance or security.

Denis Filippov, CEO of SberDevices, stresses the importance of a dependable video conferencing system under heavy usage. He notes that the SberJazz deployment on Sber demonstrates the platform’s capacity to perform under high loads while meeting stringent reliability requirements. Importantly, Filippov highlights that SberJazz is a Russian-developed product. It incorporates a range of built-in artificial intelligence features, including automatic transcription of speech through SaluteSpeech platform technologies, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for meeting participants.

Filippov also points to practical uses of the service beyond standard conference rooms. The platform is designed to integrate smoothly with video terminals in office spaces, enabling quick and seamless participation in meetings from any connected room. This flexibility supports a modern hybrid workflow where staff can join discussions whether they are at a desk, in a conference area, or moving between spaces, all while benefiting from the platform’s AI-assisted capabilities and secure infrastructure. The emphasis on on-site integration reflects a broader strategy to unify remote and in-person collaboration under a single, resilient system.

In summary, SberJazz represents a strategic, secure, and scalable communications solution that aligns with Sber’s broader digital modernization goals. Its rapid adoption, coupled with ongoing enhancements in AI-driven features and room-connection ease, positions it as a cornerstone of the bank’s internal collaboration and a model for enterprise video conferencing in a high-demand environment. The project illustrates how a national, homegrown platform can meet critical business needs while maintaining strict security standards and operational reliability for a large workforce. This approach also demonstrates the value of leveraging internal development and trusted partners to build and sustain essential digital infrastructure within a major financial institution.
