RuStore grows its Russia audience and app library, backed by analytics
As of October 2023, RuStore, the Russian Android app marketplace, drew a monthly audience of about 22.5 million users. This statistic comes from a report quoted by TASS, attributed to Ivan Myzdrikov, who serves as deputy head of development for postal services and the RuStore application store.
Myzdrikov shared these figures during his remarks at RuStore Mobile Conf. In his presentation, he cited data from Mediascope, a well-known analytics provider, to support the store’s user and usage trends.
From his statements, it is also clear that RuStore’s cumulative app downloads have surpassed 56 million. Today, the catalog includes more than 20,000 applications across a range of categories, illustrating the platform’s broad appeal among Russian mobile users.
According to a RuStore spokesperson, the top download categories accounted for a large share of activity: finance apps represented 36% of total downloads, utilities 13%, games 10%, shopping 9%, and entertainment about 6%. These proportions highlight where user demand concentrates within the store’s ecosystem.
RuStore Mobile Conf is a gathering designed for mobile app developers and ecosystem stakeholders. The event took place in Moscow on November 18, 2023, serving as a forum for product announcements, developer insights, and discussions on the evolving Android app distribution landscape in Russia.
Earlier in the market, sales of Russian smartphones and tablets running Aurora OS exceeded expectations, signaling growing interest in native software environments alongside mainstream Android experiences.
