A leading product manager at RuStore, Alexander Rusnak, outlined best practices for charging a smartphone to help preserve battery health. The guidance was reported by the agency in collaboration with RIA News.

The core message centers on avoiding common charging mistakes. The expert advises against letting the battery run completely flat and suggests charging whenever the level falls to about 10–20 percent. He also recommends aiming for a charge level around 80–90 percent rather than filling it to 100 percent, highlighting that this tends to minimize stress on the battery over time and can extend overall lifespan.

According to Rusnak, using non-original or uncertified chargers may shorten battery life and, in some cases, pose safety risks such as short circuits. The emphasis is on selecting chargers that are certified and have undergone thorough testing to ensure compatibility and safety with modern smartphone batteries.

In addressing charging myths, the expert notes that turning off connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and GPS does not dramatically improve battery longevity if these services are not actively in use or are running quietly in the background. He explains that fast charging is not harmful when used appropriately, since current generation chargers and devices include built‑in controllers that regulate charging speed, adapt to the device’s usage, and account for the time of day and battery temperature.

When a phone shows rapid battery drain, Rusnak suggests checking which apps may be running in the background. Reducing screen brightness or selecting a display mode designed for efficiency can also help conserve power without sacrificing essential functionality, he notes.

Earlier in the year, Huawei conducted testing related to high‑speed satellite internet services, underscoring the broader tech landscape in which devices operate and how these technologies interact with power management in real world scenarios.
