Design
The Oppo Find N3 uses different materials depending on color. A black version with an eco‑leather back cover was reviewed by socialbites.ca. The phone sits in a metal frame, with an outer glass screen and an inner protective film that resists tearing yet remains not prone to catching as seen in other folding devices.
Even with flat edges, the Find N3 feels comfortable in the hand whether folded or unfolded. Notably, the device measures 11.7 mm thick when closed and 5.8 mm when open.
For a foldable form, the phone stays light at 239 grams. By comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs one gram more and the iPhone 15 Pro Max weighs about 221 grams more.
The kit includes a two-piece protective case. One half covers the back with a leather-like material, while the other half is entirely plastic.
screens
The main foldable display measures 7.8 inches with LTPO3 OLED technology, a resolution of 2268 by 2440, and an adaptive refresh rate. It can reach a peak brightness of 2800 nits, making it usable in direct sunlight. Image quality remains high across use cases.
A standout feature is the apparent absence of a fold seam when viewed from certain angles. The crease is present but is barely felt when swiping across the surface. The two halves of the screen fold together tightly.
The external 6.3 inch display operates at 1116 by 2484 pixels in a 20 by 9 format, giving the second screen smartphone like usability while still curving toward tablet behavior when opened. The presence of adaptive refresh is noted, though in practice the experience may differ.
LTPO aims to vary refresh from 1 Hz to 120 Hz as needed, but real-world results show the rate depends largely on the running app. This may improve with future updates, but current use renders the adaptive feature less impactful on the Find N3.
cameras
A key feature is the triple camera system developed with Hasselblad. The main camera uses a 48 MP Sony sensor, complemented by a 48 MP ultra wide module and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. There are two selfie cameras at 20 MP and 32 MP.
All cameras perform at flagship level. The main sensor handles low light and details with proficiency, producing subjects that stand out while the background softens.
The ultra wide camera supports autofocus and macro shooting, but lacks optical image stabilization and relies on electronic stabilization. Image quality is solid, though detail lags behind the main sensor, as is common with many flagships.
The periscope telephoto delivers 3x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom with maintained detail. Oppo explained the 3x choice to avoid the compromises that 5x would entail when combining with a wide angle. The camera system can produce artistic portraits and distant subjects with pleasing background separation.
Low light from the camera setup tends to be well balanced, avoiding excessive noise while preserving realism. All cameras record video up to 4K at 60 FPS, though switching between sensors during recording requires selecting a lower frame rate mode. Video capture remains smooth across sensors, with stable transitions.
Yield
The Find N3 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, paired with ample RAM to handle multitasking and demanding titles. Performance remains solid as apps and games run in parallel, though some titles may trigger thermal and power management adjustments over time.
In graphically intensive games, there can be brief dips in brightness or frame rate, as the device prioritizes thermal constraints given a compact cooling profile. Nevertheless, the phone handles extended use without dramatic throttling, keeping overall behavior suitable for a premium device.
Such performance characteristics are understandable given the device’s thickness and the design trade-offs. The Find N3 targets productivity and photography for a premium audience rather than pure gaming excellence.
WITH
Android 13.2 powers the Find N3 with the ColorOS 13 user experience. The software brings folding friendly features such as multi window support and the ability to run up to three apps side by side.
A dock along the bottom offers quick access to recent apps and a file pocket for easy drag and drop between apps. The dock can be hidden by narrowing the area it occupies and summoned again when needed.
Many apps are still not optimized for foldable screens, which can lead to imperfect full screen experiences in some titles.
Genshin Impact runs without issue, while Honkai Star Rail on a large screen shows bars at the edges. These issues reflect app development rather than device limitations, though users may encounter some quirks when switching between apps.
Durability
Oppo states the Find N3 is capable of one million folds, a claim supported by independent TÜV Rheinland testing. A closer look at the production line confirms how the company assesses long-term reliability. Oppo also explains that folding cycles would have to continue for many years to show wear.
Moisture protection lags behind rivals with IPX4 rating, in contrast to higher ratings like IPX8 that endure immersion for up to 30 minutes in water. Still, the overall build remains robust for daily use.
Battery
The Find N3 houses a 4805 mAh battery charged in about 40 minutes using the included 67 W charger. A full day of typical use or several hours of continuous activity is easily achievable on a charge.
The team notes that foldables often struggle with endurance. The emphasis here is on balancing battery life with form factor and the practical realities of wireless charging, which can influence thickness and design choices.
Other features
The phone supports two physical SIMs or one eSIM plus one physical SIM, and includes an infrared port for home devices as well as NFC for contactless payments.
Though there are no high end branding audios on the sides, the speakers offer a strong, full sound with notable bass for a smartphone. A three-position alert switch provides silent, vibrate, and normal modes, a familiar touch for long time users.
Solution
Unlike many foldables, the Find N3 acts like a regular phone thanks to a practical external screen and compact overall size. In photography and videography it competes well with flagship devices, at times matching all-in-one options.
The manufacturer indicates a future release in new markets, with pricing variations to follow. The model is positioned as a premium option and offers strong value relative to competing foldables, especially when considering official warranty and support.
