In 2023, the tablet market in Russia reached 2.4 million devices sold, totaling 49.8 billion rubles. This represented gains of 32% in units and 30% in revenue over the prior year. The uplift marked the first sustained growth since 2020 for tablets in the region.
Across the board, sales rose in every price tier except the premium segment above 80 thousand rubles. The sharpest growth came from the budget category up to 10 thousand rubles, with volume rising by 48% and revenue in this band following suit. Overall, every price bracket saw growth in money terms, with the sub-10 thousand ruble segment delivering the strongest performance at plus 48%.
Observers note that the most of this budget segment is dominated by devices from domestic brands.
In terms of device counts, Huawei held the largest share at 16%, followed by Samsung at 13%. Russian brands completed the top three with 12% of units sold.
When measuring revenue, Apple led with a 28% market share, trailed by Samsung at 17% and Huawei at 15%.
Among individual models, the best-seller by both units and revenue was the Apple iPad 64 GB (2021), which accounted for 3.6% of total tablet sales.
