If someone is curious about drawable shooters on PC and wants to broaden their options, they may consider looking into Hawkish, a new entrant in the third‑person genre. Its early access on PC will soon open to players who are eager to explore. The format blends mechanics from battle simulators with fast‑paced action, drawing comparisons to popular titles like Escape from Tarkov and Fortnite in its bold, colorful visual style.

Once inside the game, players can create a character using an editor and embark on expeditions, solo or with others, in pursuit of loot to keep after success. The editor offers a range of skins, hairstyles, and color options for visually tailoring characters. Artifacts, equipment, and power‑ups can be mixed and matched to craft a unique alter ego and fine‑tune its look to fit the game. Artifacts, once earned in matches, can be equipped and grant passive bonuses, such as the ability to blend into foliage when crouching or a heightened awareness to detect nearby enemies. There are currently 21 artifact types, and all three can be combined at once. Each item comes in multiple rarity levels and can be found and upgraded across matches.

In this extraction shooter, teams of three compete to collect and extract Artifacts Island. Players, known as Forsaken, race against one another to seize and extract these Artifacts, a feat that requires battling monsters and opposing players, solving puzzles, and dodging traps. The first team to remove Artifacts from the island claims victory. Each round also offers chances to uncover smaller treasures and leave the island with usable currency, which can then be spent to upgrade characters and gear.

After progressing through and assimilating the latest cross‑play open beta on PC and consoles, the development team is moving forward on November 30th to unlock early access for PC, via MY GAMES and Steam. Console players are expected to receive a launch window in early 2024. This step is described by Andy Duthie, the project’s executive producer, who explains the plan as follows:

“We want an open and interactive development process that values community input. Following strong feedback and solid results from the open beta, early access is now within reach. It is a meaningful step forward. We remain on track toward launch,” Duthie states.

Traitor Rally

It should be noted that the developer has launched a campaign to encourage early access participation. The campaign, named “Renegade Rally,” promises prizes and opportunities to win special rewards for active participants, including a lifetime supply of premium coins. The more people sign up, the higher the rewards. Additionally, everyone who takes part in “Renegade Rally” will receive a free 7‑day GRAIL+ premium account, along with extra rewards unlocked during the campaign period.
