Ayaneo has unveiled Kun, a handheld console that claims to be the most powerful in its class. Powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor and paired with a 2.5K widescreen, the device is positioned to set new benchmarks in portable gaming, according to the iXBT portal.
The core performance comes from the Ryzen 7 7840U with its integrated AMD graphics. The lineup will include several configurations featuring 16, 32, or 64 GB of RAM and storage options spanning 512 GB to 4 TB. The system is designed to operate across a broad power envelope, with TDP adjustable from 9 to 54 watts to balance efficiency and performance in different workloads.
Kun stands out visually with a notably large display for a handheld device. It packs an 8.4-inch IPS panel at a 2560 × 1600 resolution and brightness up to 500 nits. The refresh rate for this screen has not been disclosed at this stage.
One of the defining design choices is the inclusion of two touchpads on the deck, a feature reminiscent of popular handhelds in the market. Additional tech touches include a Windows Hello compatible face scanner, four back panel buttons arranged like petals, and an option to install a SIM card for 4G connectivity. The SIM module is optional and carries an extra cost if chosen.
The standout hardware metric for Kun is its 75Wh battery, which is among the largest in its segment. Real-world performance will hinge on cooling efficiency and the power draw from the high‑resolution display, but the large capacity promises longer play sessions between charges. The device ships with Windows 11 and the Aya Space 2 launcher, which is designed to streamline access to games and apps from the home screen.
Preorders and crowdfunding campaigns place the base model around $999, with higher specifications pushing toward the higher end of the price range. The top configuration is expected to approach $1949 at retail. That price spread reflects the balance between selectable RAM, storage capacity, and optional cellular connectivity.
Earlier discussions highlighted the cost and full feature set of Lenovo Legion Go as a point of comparison, illustrating how Kun fits into the broader landscape of premium handheld gaming devices.
