Atomic Heart Now Fully Optimized for Steam Deck, with New Trailer and DLC Roadmap
Developer Mundfish has confirmed that Atomic Heart is fully optimized to run on Steam Deck, the handheld gaming system from Valve. A dedicated trailer marking this achievement debuted on the game’s official YouTube channel, showcasing how the title performs on the portable device and highlighting control adaptations, battery efficiency, and display considerations for on-the-go play.
At launch, Atomic Heart carried a playable rating on Steam Deck. Today, it earns a full compatibility designation, meaning players can boot the game on Steam Deck without needing extra tweaks or workarounds. Valve’s team coordinated with Mundfish to ensure smooth performance across the deck’s hardware range, addressing features like controls, resolution scaling, and power management to deliver a consistent experience.
The game initially released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 21, 2023. A new expansion is anticipated this summer, with the DLC description hinting that “many unexplored places remain” within Enterprise 3826. Four installments are planned to expand the Atomic Heart universe, adding fresh locations, narratives, characters, weapons, and abilities that deepen the ongoing story and player choice.
Previously, coverage of related titles noted Hogwarts Legacy’s availability on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, illustrating the broader context of major releases arriving across last-gen and current-gen platforms.
