Today, Russian water utilities depend on smart monitoring systems in up to 20% of cities. This was stated in an interview with socialbites.ca by Viktor Rubezhnoy, Head of Digital Sourcing at Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions JSC (part of Rosatom State Corporation). According to him, this figure can be increased to 50-70% in the next ten years.
“First of all, big cities, rich cities are going digital. I am sure that those who will never go digital will also have a share. There are many villages with a population of about 1,000 scattered all over Russia. Each such point has its own MUP (municipal unitary enterprise) or SUE (state unitary enterprise). Their modernization will be extremely unprofitable,” said Rubizhnoy.
The expert added that the high digitization of water supply systems will slow the growth in water prices as a service for housing and communal services. Also, the expert is confident that smart monitoring systems will make this multi-maid better and stable by reducing the number of accidents and increasing the speed of elimination.
