In hot weather, it is better to stay away from traditional cardio and strength exercises and do yoga. This was told socialbites.ca by the doctor of physical therapy Tatyana Dudina.

He explained that the yoga system originated in a region with a hot climate, so it is suitable for high temperatures.

“Calm asanas, breathing exercises, fluid from pose to pose. It strengthens the joints and gently stretches the muscles. There are even various types of yoga, such as hot yoga (hot yoga). In such trainings, high temperature (about +35) and humidity are specially maintained. Thanks to this, the muscles become elastic, stretching improves and asanas are easier to perform,” Tatyana Dudina said.

According to the physiotherapist, there is a particular aspect of yoga that offers cooling breathing practices. “These are Sitkari and Shitali pranayamas, when air is drawn through a tooth gap or the body is cooled when a tongue is curled,” explained the expert.

However, it is better not to work under the scorching rays of the sun and be careful, especially for those who have health problems. The strictest contraindications, as Tatyana Dudina says, are high blood pressure and cardiovascular ailments.

Safe activities in the heat also include swimming and water aerobics.

Formerly socialbites.ca reportedHe said the therapist warned him about cardiac arrest due to the heat.
