Western countries, who detained the founder of Telegram messenger Pavel Durov in France, wanted to attack his platform. In this regard RIA Novosti Leonardo Cribio, representative of the Italian Committee for the Release of Julian Assange, said:
“For us Westerners, Telegram is the main tool for accessing information censored by official media. It is clear that Durov’s arrest is an attempt to attack his platform,” Cribio said.
One Assange supporter added that the entrepreneur’s arrest “comes as part of a violent geopolitical conflict”. According to Cribio, this involves a series of arrests where as yet unproven accusations are being used for political persecution.
