The author of the YouTube channel Odin Hardware tested the performance of the budget Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 3050 graphics cards in modern games at 1440p (2K) resolution. This was reported by Ferra.
At high graphics settings in Apex Legends, the RTX 2060 delivered an average frame rate of 91 FPS, while the RTX 3050 achieved an average of 79 FPS. In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at Very High settings, the RTX 2060 showed 60 fps, the RTX 3050 – 55 fps.
In Cyberpunk 2077 with high settings and ray tracing enabled, the average frame rate was 35 fps (RTX 2060) and 31 fps (RTX 3050). In Doom Eternal at ultra settings, the RTX 2060 achieved an average of 99 frames per second, while the RTX 3050 achieved an average of 88 frames per second.
At Very High Details settings, GTA 5 ran at 60 and 51 fps on the RTX 2060 and RTX 3050, respectively. The RTX 2060 delivered 38 FPS in Red Dead Redemption 2 at ultra settings, while the RTX 3050 delivered 33 FPS.
Based on tests across 11 games, the RTX 2060 performed better in most games, but the average difference between the video cards was only 9% – 74 and 68 fps on the RTX 2060 and RTX 3050, respectively. It is stated that a computer with an AMD Ryzen 5900X processor with 32 GB of RAM (2×16 GB) DDR4 3600 MHz was used in the test.
