Often, Russians refuse to master a profession in IT because of the belief that it is too late in their age to master a new profession. Such data is provided in a survey conducted by the NAFI Analytical Center for socialbites.ca.
Among the rejecters, 36% of respondents indicated belief in the delay of such training as the main reason why they were not interested not only in the full development of the profession, but also in enrolling in courses in this field. IT. NAFI added that more often this answer is given by people over the age of 55.
Other common reasons for refusal are: lack of free time (26%) and high cost of education (16%). According to respondents, IT is more frequently abandoned by men, young and middle-aged people due to lack of time.
Slightly less popular reasons for not getting into IT, Russians called the inability to apply new skills in their current job (16%) and the difficult training process (14%).
At the same time, two-thirds of Russians (66%) said they would like to take IT training courses in the future to use the acquired knowledge for business or personal purposes. According to the survey, women are motivated to take such courses on an equal basis with men (66% and 67%, respectively).
