A Russian robot has broken the world record for the fastest time by solving a Rubik’s cube in just 0.203 seconds. The previous record, set by a robot from the Japanese company Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, was 0.305 seconds. The press service of Yandex reported on this to socialbites.ca.

“The record was set at a special event on July 5, 2024. The robot’s developer, Yandex expert Alexander Krotov, said the robot was designed specifically for this task using publicly available components, including motors for autonomous vehicles and cameras for game consoles.

During the time it takes for the robot to create the cube, the human brain only needs to perceive the image it sees, and the eye only needs to blink. The human speed cube record is 3.13 seconds.

“To break the world record, I optimized the robot’s code and structured it so that its components interacted as quickly as possible. I used special drivers to control different elements of the robot, including motors that quickly reached high speeds,” Krotov said.

Krotov develops the infrastructure for linguistic neural networks used in several of the company’s products, including Yandex Search and Neuro.

Previously artificial intelligence robot spent The first dental surgery performed on a human.
