Famous Russian designer and blogger Artemy Lebedev shared his views on the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) and Patriarch Kirill in a new article. report journalist-foreign agent Yuri Dud (known as a media-foreign agent in the Russian Federation).
Lebedev expressed his perhaps controversial view of Russia’s church structure by comparing it to the Orthodox churches in Bulgaria, Georgia and Greece. “In these countries,” he said, “when I go to church, I feel a spiritual connection. It is a feeling that penetrates into the soul. Unfortunately, visiting churches in Russia does not evoke this feeling in me.”
He criticized modern temples and churches, calling them “soulless” and comparing them to works of art made by non-professionals. Lebedev continues: “The only modern temple in Russia that I really like is the Church of the Armed Forces.”
Lebedev also expressed his views on Patriarch Kirill.
“He represents an apathetic attitude towards the role of the church. His lifestyle and behavior do not fit my ideas of how a spiritual leader should behave,” the blogger said.
In conclusion, Lebedev emphasized that the words of Patriarch Kirill mean nothing to him. The blogger has more respect for the Pope than for the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Previously Artemy Lebedev named Ekaterina Mizulina is an “information terrorist”.
