The iPhone 17 Pro Max, expected in 2025, will have three cameras with a resolution of 48 megapixels. Portal reports this MacRumors Citing authoritative insider and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to the source, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a 48MP periscope telephoto lens, making it the first Apple smartphone to feature a 48MP sensor in each of its three cameras. The iPhone 14 Pro introduced a main camera with this resolution, while the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 48MP ultra-wide-angle module.

Moreover, as the analyst noted, it is still unclear whether the iPhone 17 Pro will get a similar telephoto lens. It is likely that this camera will remain exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max and will also be introduced on the iPhone 18 Pro.

Apple’s next announcement so far will be the presentation of the iPhone 16 smartphone series, which will take place in September 2024. Rumors suggest that the base model will feature an updated camera unit design and a 6.3-inch screen (instead of 6.1), while the Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen (instead of 6.7). In addition, all devices in the series will receive a new Capture Button, which will be responsible for opening the camera app.
