Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6A smartphone users have complained that their devices are breaking after a factory reset. Google has launched an investigation into the cause of the problem. reports Technical Issues Today portal.
So, after starting the factory reset process, Pixel smartphones display an error about the impossibility of installing Android and possible damage to user data. The devices ask you to reset again and delete all data. But when you reset again, an error occurs indicating the absence of the tune2fs file.
The error is occurring on all models of the Pixel 6 series and different versions of the Android operating system. Users are assuming that it is related to a new software update.
Affected older Pixel 6 owners no longer have an active warranty and Google has offered them expensive repairs or replacements, citing issues with the motherboard. Users have been outraged by the company’s stance, believing the issue is caused by faulty software and should be resolved at Google’s expense.
Google support said the issue has been reported to the Pixel team, who are investigating the issue, but no official decision has been made yet and it is unknown how long it will take to fix it.
