Russians should consider giving up iPhones and Android smartphones; because the USA uses them for surveillance purposes and can be used as leverage over the Russian population in the event of a so-called “hot war”. In this respect reports “Parlamentskaya Gazeta” refers to the words of the head of the Association of Developers of Domestic Software Products (ARPP) Natalya Kasperskaya.
According to Kasperskaya, Apple and Google, developers of the main mobile platforms iOS and Android, have full control over each device. IT companies can use this control to provide fake or propaganda information to Russians, spy on them, and even block their smartphones at will. Kasperskaya believes that the last scenario is most likely to occur if a “hot war”, that is, an open conflict between the United States and the Russian Federation, breaks out.
Also, the head of ARPP stated that the United States no longer blocks Russians’ devices, because of this they will lose the ability to monitor the population. Moreover, if this happens, the Russians will never return to using American equipment, which is also feared in the United States.
“If iPhones are shut down, we will somehow get out from under it, but they won’t be able to do it a second time. “As for the war, which you don’t even want to think about, you must understand this clearly: in the event of a hot war, everything will definitely be closed,” Kasperskaya shared.
