In the second test build of Android 15 for developers, they found a feature that unlocks the frame rate in games. In this respect reports GSMArena portal.
The current version of Android limits the refresh rate in games to 60 FPS, requiring developers to manually configure each device to take advantage of its full potential and add support for 90, 120 or 144 Hz displays. This means that smartphone users with 120Hz displays may not always be able to enjoy games and experience fluid visuals at the highest possible refresh rates.
With the innovation in Android 15, developers will be able to offer smoother graphics to players, and users will be able to easily activate this option from the settings of their devices. This improvement will not only improve the quality of the gaming experience, but also reduce the time and resources spent by developers to adapt games to different smartphone models.
Android 15 testing is expected to take place in three phases, with two versions being released for each. Currently, two versions of Android 15 Developer Preview have already been released for developers. Public beta releases are expected in April and May, followed by Platform Stability in June and July. A full and stable version of Android 15 is expected to be released in late summer or early fall, but owners of Google Pixel smartphones will be the first to download the update.
Previously on Android 15 acquired satellite communication function.
