Nvidia as part of the GTC 2024 conference presented Project GR00T is called the universal basic model for the creation of humanoid robots. It will allow robots to learn by observing people’s movements.

Robots based on the GR00T will be able to understand natural language and mimic human movements, allowing them to quickly adapt to their environment and perform various tasks with a high degree of coordination and dexterity. Nvidia emphasizes that these robots can navigate, adapt and interact in the real world.

Creating basic models for humanoid robots is one of the most exciting challenges in artificial intelligence today, according to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Nvidia also announced the launch of Jetson Thor, a new robotic computing platform with next-generation GPUs based on Blackwell architecture that delivers 800 teraflops of performance. The platform is designed to integrate with products from leading humanoid robot manufacturers, including 1X Technologies, Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Boston Dynamics and Figure AI.

Previously Nvidia showed The world’s most powerful graphics card for AI.
