Startup xAI, owned by SpaceX and Neuralink founder as well as X (Twitter) Elon Musk, has released the source code of its generative neural network Grok. In this respect reports The New Torque Times (NYT) refers to Musk’s post on X.
Grok is a generative AI similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which Elon Musk positions as a sarcastic neural network with a “sense” of humor. Grok was inspired by the xAI workers in the guidebook in Douglas Adams’ science fiction novels The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Grok differs favorably from other generative AIs in that it can access information on the Internet in real time. The dataset of the xAI program is the social network X.
The NYT called the release of the Grok source code the “latest salvo” in the dispute between Musk and OpenAI. Before this, Musk sued the company and its chairman, Sam Altman, for commercializing artificial intelligence technology. OpenAI responded to the lawsuit by accusing Musk of jealousy. The truth is that the billionaire was at the origins of OpenAI but later resigned from the board.
In the comments to the post about the release of the Grok source code, Chapter X wrote that this step should not be taken as the end of xAI’s participation in the project. According to him, there is still a lot of work to be done on artificial intelligence, but it is currently the most transparent and honest. Musk ironically noted that reaching the current level was not difficult. Thus, he once again made fun of ChatGPT, whose work is extremely unregulated and untransparent.
Previously owned by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX will create A network of hundreds of reconnaissance satellites for the United States.
