American technology giant Microsoft has announced an education assistance program that will train 100,000 Filipino women in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity technologies. In this respect reports South China Morning Post (SCMP). The program was announced during the two-day US trade mission to the Philippines, chaired by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

Women’s education will be carried out through the Microsoft online platform. They will be trained to use Microsoft AI tools based on OpenAI’s broad language models. The knowledge gained will improve Filipino women’s professional performance and awareness of common cyber threats.

“We are very excited about the Philippines’ potential to drive economic development using advanced artificial intelligence technologies,” Mary Snapp, Microsoft’s vice president of global strategic initiatives, said at a press conference in Manila.

According to Snapp, Microsoft will collaborate with government education agencies as part of the program.

Philippine Undersecretary of Commerce Rafaelita Aldaba said in a statement that the training “can help strengthen the country’s cybersecurity as well as increase the confidence of the female population in the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.”

Formerly Minister Shadayev statedthat foreign AI services are not blocked in Russia.
