Some PlayStation 5 console owners experienced loss of access to digital copies of games they had previously purchased. In this respect reports Metro.

The CE-117773-6 bug prevents users from downloading, launching and updating games. Moreover, when trying to restore the digital license, all games in the library will be completely deleted, leaving console owners with no ability to play previously purchased games.

More than 50 people confirmed the issue on the Reddit forum. Players report that the issue often occurs after purchasing add-on content (DLC) or upgraded versions of games through a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Despite the complaints, Sony has yet to comment on the situation. Apparently the problem is not widespread and therefore the company does not pay attention to it. Sony technical support currently recommends not selecting the license update option to avoid losing access to existing games.

Some gamers can purchase games from PlayStation Store for a decade and accumulate thousands of games in their collection. They may lose them if such an error occurs. It was not stated whether the games they had previously purchased were returned to anyone.
