American IT giant Apple is currently developing a new laptop from the MacBook Pro series that will be based on the M4 chip. In this respect reports Quoted by 9to5Mac publication, insider and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
According to Gurman, Apple has just started developing a MacBook Pro based on the M4 chip. Details are pretty vague at the moment as it looks like the device is still months away from being released.
The current MacBook Pro was introduced in October 2023. It was the first Apple device to be powered by the M3 chip, which has the same 3nm technology as the A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro. Besides the M3, Apple also released the more powerful M3 Pro and M3 Max for high-end versions of computers.
Later, the M3 chip was also equipped with the MacBook Air and iMac. Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro are expected to be available soon based on processors of this series.
The M4 is said to have more Neural Engine cores to handle AI-related tasks, which should be implemented in iOS 18 and macOS 15. In comparison, the Neural Engine unit in the A17 Pro can process up to 35 trillion operations per second.
9to5Mac believes it will take Apple at least a year from the start of development to the launch of the M4-based MacBook Pro. So in the best-case scenario, the new laptop will be released in spring 2025.
Previously before the announcement Apple started Deploy iOS 18.
