Some foreign electronics brands have restarted their advertising activities in Russia

Honor, Xiaomi, Samsung and other popular electronics brands have resumed official advertising activities in Russia after suspending them in 2022 due to the start of SVO in Ukraine. In this respect reports publication “Kommersant” (“Kommersant”).

The return of advertising of foreign brands in Russia is indicated primarily by the increased frequency of mention of them in the media. According to TelecomDaily, in the Russian Federation, the name of brands such as Honor, Xiaomi, Samsung and Acer has resumed at 65-100% of the 2021 level.

Basically, the listed companies cooperate with bloggers from Russia. Analysts from advertising conglomerate NMi Group noted that the biggest activity came from Honor and Xiaomi. According to NMi Group, the advertising budgets of these companies in 2023 were 2-5% higher than in 2021.

Honor, Xiaomi, Samsung and Acer refused to comment to Kommersant about analysts’ data.

A retail source told reporters that some foreign brands outsource the rights to manage their advertising budgets and marketing strategies to third-party businesses such as marketplaces, retailers and distributors.
