Chinese scientists from Hefei University have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) model called EmoAda to provide psychological support. The neural network can read the interlocutor’s emotions and give personalized responses based on them. The study was published in the scientific journal broadcasting Multimedia Modeling (MMM).
EmoAda captures the user’s mood by analyzing different types of sensory data, including audio, facial video, and text.
Depending on the needs of the mentioned challenges, the platform can offer different types of activities.
Researchers found that one of the most valuable aspects of EmoAda is anonymity. Users often stated that they were comfortable sharing personal information that would be difficult to discuss with other people face-to-face.
The creators emphasized that EmoAda cannot replace a live psychologist or psychotherapist. But the model can support a person in a difficult situation and help him get rid of stress at any time of the day, without any restrictions on the duration of the session.
