American entrepreneur Elon Musk condemned Google for racism while programming the Gemini neural network. He shared his opinion on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“I’m glad Google overplayed its hand with AI (artificial intelligence) rendering, because it made their crazy, racist, anti-civilization programs obvious to everyone,” the billionaire wrote on February 22.
The next day, Musk said he spoke on the phone with a senior Google executive. The conversation lasted an hour, he said, during which Musk was assured that Google would take immediate action to correct racial and gender bias at Gemini.
“Time will tell,” the entrepreneur concluded.
The reason for Musk’s criticism of the neural network was regular errors in which it changed the gender or skin color of people depicted in images.
Google in early February launched Gemini, a branded chatbot for Android, is also available for iPhone users. To use it, you need to download the Google application of the same name.
