US accused two Russians of joining the LockBit hacker group

US authorities have accused Russian citizens Artur Sungatov and Ivan Kondratyev of participating in the well-known hacker group LockBit, the agency reported. Reuters.

Sungatov and Kondratyev are accused by the US Department of Justice of distributing malware whose victims were insurance, logistics and industrial companies in five US states and many other countries.

Kondratiev was also charged with malware in California in 2020.

Additionally, both Russians were subject to sanctions from the US Treasury Department.
