Hackers used a vibrator to spread a dangerous computer virus

A US user of the Reddit forum, under the pseudonym FruitLuck, reported that he had discovered dangerous malware on his Sexology vibrator. FruitLuck drew attention to the story attention 404 Media release.

FruitLuck told reporters that it purchased Sexology’s Pussy Power vibrator at the popular Spencer’s store on Valentine’s Day (February 14). One day a girl decided to charge her Pussy Power and to do so she connected it to her computer via USB. Immediately after that, a browser was opened on the computer and the download of a file that the antivirus identified as malicious was activated.

FruitLuck posted the downloaded file with its story on Reddit after connecting the vibrator to the computer. Some independent information security experts became interested in the girl’s story and decided to examine the file she published. So, user

Vx-underground suspected that Luma had broken into the VegetableLuck PC after connecting the vibrator because no one else had reported such incidents. At the same time, hundreds of reviews of Sexology branded devices were published online. To come to a more accurate conclusion, vx-underground decided to ask FruitLuck to send him the exact copy of Pussy Power.

Journalists also decided to review Sexology’s sex toys and purchased a pair of vibrators from the brand at Spencer’s. They’ve connected devices to PCs on Mac and Windows multiple times, but the FruitLuck scenario never repeated itself. Only once, while connecting Pussy Power to one of the journalists’ iMac, a window with various symbols opened and closed for a moment. 404 Media’s editors were unable to repeat the work to review it in detail.
