Samsung became the leader of the TV market for the 18th time in a row in 2023. In this respect reports SamMobile cites a new report from analytics firm Omdia.

According to the Omdia report, Samsung’s global TV market share was 30.1% in 2023. The company sold 8.31 million QLED and Neo QLED TVs last year. Moreover, since the launch of the first QLED TVs in 2017, Samsung has sold more than 44 million such devices.

The South Korean company maintained its leadership position in the premium TV segment. By the end of 2023, Samsung has a large market share in this segment with 60.5%. This is 12.2% more than in 2022.

Samsung has sold more than one million OLED TVs since its first OLED TV launch in 2022, capturing 22.7% of the market. The company expects OLED TV sales to increase this year due to devices with larger screen sizes.

Yeon Seok-woo, president of Samsung Electronics’ TV division, said that the company will work to make TVs with Micro LED screens more affordable in the coming years. First of all, by reducing the screen diagonal, a price reduction will be provided for such devices.
