The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, build number 2.24.4.23, has added a revamped Status tab to improve people’s interaction with this form of content. In this respect reports Published by GizmoChina.
Statuses are vertical videos and photos that WhatsApp users can post to their profiles. Statuses are similar to Instagram stories (the owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and was banned in Russia).
The updated interface significantly changes its displays. Unlike the previous version, the new design takes a more intuitive approach. All new statuses are now collected in the “Updates” tab at the top of the chat list. Previously, you had to go to each user’s profile individually to view their status.
According to GizmoChina, the redesign was suggested in response to feedback from users who noted inefficiency and lack of intuitiveness in the previous version.
This redesigned interface is currently in testing and available to a small group of beta testers. Its inclusion in the stable version of WhatsApp will depend on the feedback received and the extent of improvements required.
