Some Chinese media published the first tests of the new MSI Claw portable console and compared the results with the rival Asus ROG Ally. In this respect reports Videocardz portal.
It is stated that in the published test, the basic MSI Claw model with an Intel Core 5 Ultra 135H processor was used, which is inferior in performance to the slightly more expensive version with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. At the same time, the console was compared to Asus ROG Ally with AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. According to the test results, Asus ROG Ally is ahead of MSI Claw in all gaming scenarios and power consumption modes. At the same time, MSI Claw has a maximum TDP of 40 W, while Asus ROG Ally has a maximum TDP of 30 W.
Thus, in Cyberpunk 2077, ROG Ally showed an image of 59.8 FPS, while the MSI console displayed an average image of 44.8 FPS. In the game Shadow of the Tomb Raider, ROG Ally showed 42 to 53 FPS, and MSI Claw – 24 to 49 FPS, depending on the selected TDP. In Red Dead Redemption, the average result was 60.2 and 49.2 FPS for Asus ROG Ally and MSI Claw respectively.
However, since the MSI console is not yet on sale, it is too early to draw final conclusions. It is possible that for the release the developers will optimize the hardware and improve performance by updating drivers. MSI Claw is planned to be released in the spring with a starting price of $ 699 (about 64.6 thousand rubles).
