Engines from fighter planes, toys and radio recorders
Now the company Lovetoy (formerly A-Polymer) creates dildos for every taste. Among them, “Cossack” is another record holder called “Supergiant”, which stands out for its size of a human arm to the elbow, about 65 centimeters, and its impressive thickness – 10 cm in diameter. Another exclusive series is called BestCock – with dildos from Small to large testicles of different sizes and types.
This production started with a simple trip to the store where the first vibrators were on display. This is what gave the impetus to the future general director of the enterprise, Vadim Kanunov, to open the production of intimate goods.
“I am a gynecologist and I know very well the problem of realizing some of women’s desires and needs. Therefore the problem was well known to me. One day, a biologist friend of mine came to me and said: “I went to the store and some sex toys appeared there.” I decided to assemble something similar, bought old Soviet engines, power supplies and adapters. We made the first vibrators and started placing ads in newspapers. It turns out that such things are in great demand. “We started increasing production by creating more sex toys,” Kanunov told socialbites.ca.
Moreover, as Kanunov said, completely different parts were used, even from the defense industry.
“We used micromotors from the gyroscopes of old Soviet warplanes. Then they produced many of them, some were deleted, some were simply stolen. In general, we bought it. Many more children’s toys, such as tape recorders, were produced in the USSR. There are also micromotors there, we used them too. Rubin TVs were produced in the Soviet Union, and we got the control buttons from there. Overall there were a lot of components, you just had to put them all together in the right order,” Kanunov explained.
The company initially ordered phallus-shaped shells produced at a children’s toy factory. Later it became clear that more realistic examples were needed.
“Then we attracted experts from the Rubber Institute and together with them we began to develop modern polymers that could later be used in production,” Kanunov added.
Today, Lovetoy produces tens of thousands of products per month. Moreover, most of the raw materials are of Russian origin.
“Previously, we were purchasing some components from foreign companies, for example polymers from Japan. Today, most of the raw materials are produced in Russia, except for some parts that must be purchased from China. But in general, in recent years it has become clear that our chemical industry has mastered the production of many quality raw materials that we can use in the production of sex toys,” said Kanunov.
I built my first sex machine myself
Another domestic manufacturer of sex toys, the company LoveMachines from Omsk, specializes in creating sex machines. It is by far the world’s largest distributor of sex machines and accessories.
The company’s website offers different models of sex machines; for example, you can find an “Ottoman”, which is a chair with a hole in the seat, into which a robotic contraption with a dildo is inserted. There are also vertical machines that are placed next to the bed or another place where the person lies, and machines with two rubber elements called “Double Casanova”. There are also male masturbators, such as the Humble sex machine, that provide vacuum massage to the penis. Almost all of them are made in black, but there are also Barbie pink ones.
The company also has a showroom in Moscow, where you can evaluate the performance of the devices and choose the sex machine model you like. It is also possible to rent such a toy.
According to Sergei Ivanov, founder and president of the group of companies, which includes LoveMachines, the first model was created in 2007, and Sergei assembled it himself.
“It all started with a sex shop. I opened my first store for adults in Omsk in 2002, there was nothing like it in the city then. And gradually I collected a lot of requests for sex machines from customers. They came and said: “We need something robotic that can imitate a human, work for a long time, not get tired, and does not need water or food.” I started researching this topic and discovered that nothing like it was produced in the world at that time, and people wanted a sex machine that moved back and forth, which would completely imitate a person,” Ivanov told socialbites.ca.
The number of requests from customers increased, it was foolish to ignore them.
“After weighing all my technical knowledge and examining the volume of the market, I decided that we should try to produce this. I built my first car myself in 2007 from what I had. I focused on the company Kink.com, a porn studio that produces but does not sell adult content with sex machines. At that time, these were terrible structures made of pipes, bolts and some kind of plexiglass walls. I watched videos, tried to understand how it worked, sat in the library and read encyclopedias, studied the types of mechanical gears. I tried to make some things myself, some I collected from stores, some I ordered from turners. “I finally prepared the first copy and received excellent feedback from my client,” Ivanov continued.
Gradually, as Sergei noted, production was modernized and increased. By the end of 2023, its annual capacity reached 10 thousand units. The company now aims to reach 50 thousand units. Welding, turning and milling equipment are used to produce sex machines, and laser cutting is also used in production. The resulting parts are then assembled by hand.
“We produce our sex machines with 99 percent Russian components. It all starts with the supply of metal products, then we cut, bake and paint everything. Fittings are also purchased in Russia. The only foreign goods used are engines. Unfortunately, engines of the quality and format we need are not yet produced in Russia,” Ivanov told socialbites.ca.
Russian products are also popular abroad, but fewer orders came after the start of SVO.
“It is now more difficult to pay for an order and logistics has also become more difficult. However, the last new order left for Greece was a week and a half ago. Before that – to China and Thailand. We managed to obtain a European quality certificate in 2022, I hope we will start exporting our products there as well. Therefore, we are faced with the task of increasing production,” Ivanov concluded.
Zoo motifs from Erasexa
Another Russian manufacturer of sex toys is Erasexa. The company produces designer toys and is inspired by the animal world. Some of their products resemble the penises of various animals, while others are fantasy dildos stylized as tentacles.
For example, the site’s homepage features a “Crocodile” that mimics the shape of a reptile’s curled tail to stimulate the G-spot, and the toy is covered in scales and pimples for better sensations. Another interesting example is “Ghost Rider”. This is a black dildo with an interesting base: instead of the usual testicles there is a skull with bright orange eyes.
Most of the products are dildos, but the site also offers masturbators for men. One of them is made in the shape of a red fox, and the other resembles a dog’s vulva. Reviews about them are positive.
As the company states, the brand’s goal is to meet the need for local customer preferences that people often don’t talk about. The company produces a different number of toys every month – it all depends on customer wishes.
“All toys are made by hand, without the use of machines. We cast, paint, add some functions such as glow in the dark or discharge, so that each product is unique and unique. Unfortunately I cannot reveal the details of the toys’ creation. We use American materials and have no problems with supply. The sanctions did not affect production in any way,” a representative of Erasexa told socialbites.ca.
