At first glance, the new Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset looks fragile, but crash testing by blogger Sam Colem of Apple Track showed that the new product is harder to break than you might think. In this respect reports Published by GizmoChina.
With regular use of Apple Vision Pro, natural wear and tear in the form of accidental knocks on walls and doors is inevitable. Colem’s experience showed that such collisions do not cause much damage to the headset: in the worst case, small scratches will remain on the glass. The glass of the headset did not break even after deliberate blows to the wall. The only thing that happened during severe exposure was that the photoprotective film started to peel off.
Although the speakers suffered some damage, the headset also withstood low-height drops onto carpet. Specifically, after the third drop, the right speaker stopped working due to internal contact loss. Despite this, the headset was in overall good condition and fully usable. However, the windshield of the headset broke after falling from a significant height of 3-3.5 meters. But even then, the Vision Pro continued to work because the internal displays were not damaged.
“Overall, the Vision Pro showed better durability than expected in daily use scenarios. The only weak point seems to be the speakers,” GizmoChina writes.
