According to Mehler Protection, the exoskeleton’s armor panels provide ballistic protection up to European standard VPAM8. This means that the suit must withstand hits from three 7.62x39mm bullets (the same caliber as the AK-47 and many other assault rifles) from a distance of 10 meters.
The exoskeleton’s titanium frame redistributes up to 70% of the total load from the user’s shoulders to the ground. The company also claims that the ExoM flexible spine, sliding waist belt, and articulated hip, knee, and ankle joints allow the user to maintain 99% of their normal range of motion.
ExoM is a passive exoskeleton, meaning it does not use any motorized actuators or power source for them. However, the company does not specify how much this set of protective equipment weighs. Additionally, the company does not disclose the type of ballistic protection used.
