The section that currently includes smartphones under the Nokia brand, including HMD Global devices, will be removed from the official Nokia website as of February 1, 2024. HMD Global will completely stop selling smartphones on behalf of Nokia as of 2026. In this respect reports ITHome publication.
Officially, the section on the Nokia website with smartphones has already been closed. However, it is still available via the direct link nokia.com/phones. It will also close on February 1. HMD Global said the change was part of its “brand transformation plan”.
ITHome also noted that HMD Global launched the hmd.com website without any announcement. The company announced that pages for Nokia smartphones, as well as branded devices and devices from HMD Global partners, will soon appear. The vendor will stop producing and selling new devices under the Nokia brand after 2025.
HMD Global is a Finnish company founded in 2015. The company acquired the mobile phone business from Nokia in 2016 and continues to develop and sell them under the iconic brand.
