According to the source, the name of the new product is GeForce RTX 3050. Although the company previously introduced a model with the same name in January 2022, the new device will be very different from it.
In particular, the new RTX 3050 will receive 6 GB of memory instead of the 8 GB of the old one. There will also be 2304 CUDA cores instead of 2560. Bandwidth will drop from 224 GB/s to 168 GB/s. The GPU frequency in Standard and Boost modes will be reduced from 1552 MHz and 1777 MHz to 1042 and 1470 MHz respectively.
Energy consumption will be 70 W instead of 130 W. Based on this, VideoCardz suggested that the GeForce RTX 3050 will receive a passive, that is, cooler-less, cooling system. Journalists believe that it would be more logical for Nvidia to call the new product GeForce RTX 3040 instead of GeForce RTX 3050.
Most likely the video card will be available before the end of January 2024. The new product will cost $ 179, which at the exchange rate at the time of writing was approximately equal to 16 thousand rubles.
