The Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into law enforcement activities. They write about it “Vedomosti”.

It is planned to conduct research studies and prepare data sets for the training and testing of neural network models until 2024.

And by 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to develop two artificial intelligence-based systems: “Clone” and “Conjuncture”.

“Clone” will be used to describe cases of video footage forgery that may be of interest to law enforcement. The “conjuncture” system must be able to predict adverse events and emergencies and model response scenarios to them.

The plan for the inclusion of artificial intelligence technologies in the activities of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation for 2023-2025 was approved by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Shulika. The authenticity of the document was verified by an employee of a large IT integrator working on government orders. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not yet commented on this information.
